Formed in January 2021, Kimberley Mineral Sands is a 50:50 Joint Venture between Sheffield Resources Ltd (ASX:SFX) and YGH Australia Investment Pty Ltd (Yansteel) for the development of the Thunderbird Mineral Sands Project located on the Dampier Peninsula, midway between Broome and Derby.

Today, Thunderbird Operations supports around 300 full-time jobs with an average monthly spend in the West Kimberley region of $5 million. Approximately 18% of the workforce is Aboriginal, 17% female, and 48% are locally resident in Broome, Derby and surrounding communities.

Mineral sands concentrates produced at Thunderbird are transported to Broome for export via the Port of Broome to our global offtake partners.
